The National Folk Festival is a large-scale, community-building event, bringing together many diverse groups and individuals to work toward a common goal.
Butte won the honor of hosting the National Folk Festival 2008, 2009 and 2010 in a competitive process that included 22 other municipalities – many of them far larger than Butte. Butte is one of the smallest cities ever selected to host the National, an achievement that is the product of a strong collaboration among Mainstreet Uptown Butte, Butte-Silver Bow County, the Butte Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), and Travel Montana, of the Montana Department of Commerce.
Now it’s time for everyone to join in the festival effort. The resources, energy and commitment of corporations, businesses, civic organizations, and about 700 volunteers are needed to reap the benefits that this event will bring to the region.
