National Folk Festival Announces VF Corporation to Serve as Stage Sponsor for Third Straight Year

The National Folk Festival today announced that VF Corporation will sponsor the “Wrangler Stage” for the third straight year at the 2017 Festival, which will take place in downtown Greensboro from September 8-10, 2017.

A large “street stage” located in the 400 block of North Elm Street in downtown Greensboro, the Wrangler Stage will anchor the northern end of the Festival. At any time throughout the Festival, as many as 5,000 attendees will be able to enjoy performers on this stage, which will operate day and night. Food and beverage vendors will be located on the Wrangler property adjacent to the stage.

The 77th National Folk Festival will kick off at the Wrangler Stage on Friday evening with a performance by New Orleans’ legendary Tremé Brass Band. Throughout the weekend, festival-goers will have the opportunity to see artists such as Los Texmaniacs, the Bruce Daigrepont Cajun Band, the Fairfield Four, and more on the Wrangler Stage. The full performance schedule is available on the National Folk Festival’s website. Visit nationalfolkfestival.com/schedule for details.

Making the announcement today at the Wrangler facility in Greensboro were Tom Waldron, President of Wrangler; Phil McAdams, President of VF Jeanswear Americas; Tom Philion, President and CEO – ArtsGreensboro; Amy Grossmann, Local Festival Director; and Martha Spencer and Kelley Breiding of the group Spencer Branch, 2017 National Folk Festival performers.

“The National Folk Festival is a unique event that celebrates American culture and the arts. This rings particularly true for us at Wrangler, an iconic brand that celebrates authenticity and American heritage,” said McAdams. “Wrangler is delighted to be a sponsor of this transformational event for a third year.”

“Both ArtsGreensboro and the National Folk Festival are extremely grateful to VF and Wrangler for their support of this amazing three-year event,” said ArtsGreensboro CEO Tom Philion, “and for recognizing the impact and value of bringing so many people together around this transformative celebration of our America heritage and culture – right here in Jeansboro.”
