The National Folk Festival and the City of Jackson has partnered with the Medgar & Myrlie Evers Home National Monument, the Mississippi Museum of Art, and the Mississippi Arts Commission for a day of programs that explore several of the sites that enrich Jackson’s cultural landscape.
Medgar & Myrlie Evers Home National Monument
The national monument opens at 9 AM for free tours.
The City of Jackson has arranged a FREE public shuttle, running from downtown Jackson to the Evers Home. The shuttle departs from the Hinds County tax collector lot, and runs every 30 minutes from 8:45 - 11:15 AM.

Of Salt & Spirit: Black Quilters in the American South exhibition opening
Opening day activities will include a panel discussion, quilt demonstrations, and the following performances:
12:00 - 12:30 PM Chief Shaka Zulu (New Orleans Black Masking craftsman and stilt dancer)
1:15 - 1:45 PM Chief Shaka Zulu (New Orleans Black Masking craftsman and stilt dancer)
